Jesus lived a life of service. We desire to follow the example of Jesus by serving people in our church, and in our community. One way of doing this is our "Day of Serving." Below are stories and notes related to this day. If you have a DOS story to tell, leave it as a comment or e-mail it to hpdayofserving@gmail.com.

ReplyDeleteMy answer would be two-fold:
1. It's tough balancing ministry with personal/family life. I know balancing work and family is always tough, but when eternity is at stake, it makes saying "no" more difficult. I appreciate that our leadership is very supportive of the staff and values the roles we have that no one else can do (and no one else can fulfill my role as husband and father).
2. In our line of work, a job is rarely done. Helping people grow in Christ is our role, and that job is ongoing. I think this is why I like to mow my yard. I like the sense of completion.
